Bernadette Hinkle, Arkansas Tech University vice president for administration and finance, has announced that Dr. Linda Birkner will take office as assistant vice president for administration and finance at ATU on Thursday, Nov. 1.
Birkner has more than 30 years of experience in higher education. She most recently served as vice chancellor for administration at University of Arkansas Community College-Morrilton, where she oversaw the construction and opening of the UACCM Workforce Training Center.
A graduate of the University of Arkansas-Little Rock with a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration, Birkner also holds an Educational Specialist degree in vocational administration, a Master of Education degree in adult and continuing education and a Bachelor of Science and Arts degree from the University of Arkansas.
Hinkle expressed appreciation to assistant vice president for administration and finance search committee members Jayne Jones (chair), Dr. Debra Hunter, Richard Harris, Greg Crouch, Jessica Holloway and Brooke Southard for their service.
