Bentonville West Students Win ATU Business Challenge

Siblings Santosh Vangoor and Ananya Vangoor of Bentonville West High School are the champions of the 2021 Arkansas Tech University College of Business High School Business Challenge.

The winning team received $500 for their idea to develop a peer tutoring app.

Lakeside High School students Tanner Ward and Lance Neighbors claimed runner-up honors and $250 for their vision to create innovative safety gloves for individuals who service electrical power lines.

The annual contest provides high school students with an opportunity to develop a marketable idea, create a business plan and then present the concept to a panel of judges.

Criteria includes the quality of the business start-up or expansion idea, organization and structure, marketing, profitability, resources and professionalism.

Sponsors for the 2021 competition included Farm Bureau of Pope County and Textbook Brokers.
