Belew Advances to Knockout Round on "The Voice"

Arkansas Tech University alumnus Cody Belew is moving on to the third round of competition on the NBC television program “The Voice.”

Arkansas Tech University alumnus Cody Belew is moving on to the third round of competition on the NBC television program “The Voice.”

Belew won his one-on-one singing competition during the battle round in the episode that aired to a national audience on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

He competed against an artist named DOMO. They sang the song “Telephone” together, and celebrity coach CeeLo Green determined that Belew gave the better performance.

As a result, Belew will appear in the knockout round on “The Voice” later this fall.

A native of Beebe, Belew graduated from Arkansas Tech in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music. He now resides in Nashville, Tenn.

“The Voice” is among the highest-rated television programs in the United States. It has averaged more than 12 million viewers during its third season.
