Before and After: Tucker Coliseum Floor Project

A glimpse of before and after photos from inside Tucker Coliseum reveals just how much has changed at the home of the Golden Suns and the Wonder Boys following the installation of a new hardwood floor.

Photographed top right is a photo from early summer 2011 that shows the original Tartan rubber floor that was put down when Tucker Coliseum opened in 1976.

Photographed bottom right is the new hardwood floor. The painting crew placed its final touches late last week with the words “Arkansas Tech” on the baselines in the new font that matches the official Tech athletics logo.

Arkansas Tech utilized a temporary wood floor at Tucker Coliseum from 2000-2011.

The new permanent hardwood floor was installed by Sports Floor Systems of Memphis, Tenn.

The first Arkansas Tech athletic event scheduled for the new floor is a Great American Conference volleyball match between the Golden Suns and Henderson State on Thursday, Sept. 15. First serve will be at 7 p.m.
