The annual Battle of the Halls competition is in full swing on the Arkansas Tech campus. The yearly competition pits each of the residence halls against each other to determine which hall will be named the Battle of the Hall champions.
Tomorrow afternoon, students from each of the residence halls will compete in Wacky Olympics. The event is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at the intramural fields, and organizers say participants compete in several messy games.
Throughout the week, residents at each of the halls are working to complete campus beautification projects, and the projects must be completed by 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Wednesday afternoon students will return to the intramural fields to participate in a kickball tournament.
The annual Big Splash Night is Wednesday evening, and students will be taking over the swimming pool in the Hull Building for various swimming and diving competitions. The event begins at 8:30 p.m.
Quiz bowl and the closing ceremonies will take place Thursday night in the Doc Bryan Student Services Building Lecture Hall. The quiz bowl competition begins at 9:00 p.m., but officials say students should arrive early to watch. Following the quiz bowl event, the 2011 Battle of the Halls champion will be crowned.
The various residence halls earn points for participating in each activity, and the halls also earn points for the number of residents attending each event.
