Arkansas’ Band of Distinction is “Back” and taking its music to the streets of Russellville.

The Arkansas Tech University marching band will offer a preview of the music in its fall 2021 show during a community event at the Russellville Train Depot in Russellville Downtown on Friday, Aug. 13.

The show will begin at 6 p.m. Attendance is free and open to the public.

“Everyone knows what the state of the world has been like and how it has affected the lives people live within it,” said Dr. Daniel A. Belongia, director of bands and professor of music at ATU. “Educators and students of Arkansas Tech University have been greatly impacted and have longed to be back in the stands underneath the Saturday night lights. Arkansas’ Band of Distinction wants to shout ‘we’re back’ from the rooftops with our 2021 show, Back.”

The ATU marching band will make its football season debut on Thursday, Sept. 2, when Arkansas Tech hosts Southeastern Oklahoma State University for the first game of the 2021 campaign. Kickoff at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field is set for 6 p.m.
