ATU’s Top Community Builders Recognized

The Arkansas Tech University Division of Student Affairs honored students, faculty and staff for their contributions to the activities beyond the classroom that enriched life on campus during the 2018-19 academic year with an awards and recognition program at Tucker Coliseum on Tuesday, April 23.

Top award winners included Kara Johnson (photographed), coordinator of civic engagement, who garnered the Cupola Award for going “above and beyond to deliver the highest standard of service for students,” and student Greydon Turner, who captured the Green and Gold Spirit Award.

Order of Omega won outstanding student organization of the year and John Sisco, president for Order of Omega, was presented with the student organization president of the year award.

The registered student organization project of the year prize also went to Order of Omega. The honor society was recognized for its Greeks Give Back program.

National Society of Leadership and Success was identified as the most improved registered student organization at ATU over the past year.

Noah Tidmore was chosen as student organization member of the year for his service to Student Government Association.

Dr. Tara Hart, who advises SPECTRUM, was named outstanding faculty/staff advisor of the year.

Dr. Brendan Toner, assistant professor of political science, was recognized as ATU professor of the year.

ATU students Anna Adams-King, Sarah Bayird, Jessica Boone, Aaron Collier, Carly Copeland, Meredith Darnell, Marisa Drevenak, Hunter Eshnaur, Audrey Fitts, Emily Geels, Mallory Heft, Sydnie Henson, Devin Hester, Kimberly Huff, Natari Irvin, Hunter Johnston, Kyler Keddie, Lakyn Kidd, Lacy Knox, Chloe Lance, Dianna Leal, Blair Miller, Wyatt Norris, Ellie Perkins, Kirsten Reid, Annabel Rowlands, Graycen Russell, Sydney Secrest, Maggie Silva, Jayson Simmons, John Sisco, Holly Spear, Sydney Stone, Lauren Thomas, Madison Vigil, Macy Webb, Reid Wheeler and Brooklyn Woodworth earned the Service Excellence Award for logging 100 or more community service hours through theLINK during the 2018-19 academic year.
