Dr. Keegan Nichols, Arkansas Tech University vice president for student affairs, will be among the featured speakers at the 2018 NASPA Region IV-West Conference in Wichita, Kan.
Nichols will speak at the third annual Women’s Words of Wisdom dessert reception at the Wichita Marriott on Wednesday, Oct. 24.
NASPA is a national professional organization for student affairs professionals.
According to information from NASPA, the Women’s Words of Wisdom event “provides an opportunity for women in student affairs to socialize and hear from outstanding women in the field providing words of inspiration in the hopes of supporting our female colleagues at all levels of their career.”
The speeches may cover such topics as lessons learned, motivation, inspiration and related subjects.
A native of Vilonia, Nichols joined ATU as its vice president for student affairs on June 26, 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of Central Arkansas, a Master of Science degree in college administration from the University of Central Missouri and a Doctor of Education degree in adult and higher education from Northern Illinois University.
Nichols was previously associate vice president for student affairs at Fort Hays State University from 2013-17 and vice president of student affairs at Colby Community College (Kan.) from 2010-13. She has additional experience working in student services at Northern Illinois University and Rockford College (Ill.).
