ATU’s Bruner to Speak on First Gen Students

Dr. Brett Bruner, dean of student engagement at Arkansas Tech University, has been chosen by the American College Personnel Association’s Commission on Admissions, Orientation and First Year Experience to present an international webinar entitled “Supporting First-Generation Students through Admissions, Orientation and the First Year of College.”

The webinar will take place on Thursday, Jan. 31. As of Friday, Jan. 25, more than 400 participants had registered to participate in the conversation.

According to the ACPA, the commision has a mission of providing “resources for scholarship, recognition and networking for all association members whose work is engaged in the management of student enrollment and adjustment.”

Bruner joined the ATU Division of Student Affairs staff in September 2018. He previously served as director of transition and student conduct at Fort Hays State University (Kan.).
