Members of the Arkansas Tech University community will remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a campus march and campus-wide community service project on Monday, Jan. 20.

Participants are invited to check in and enjoy a continental breakfast from 8-9:30 a.m. at Hindsman Tower. That will be the starting point for the campus march at 9:30 a.m. The march will end at the W.O. Young Building. From there, students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of ATU are invited to participate in a service project inside Young Ballroom.

Volunteers will fold and pack fleece blankets and prepare women’s hygiene kits for distribution to local non-profit organizations.

It will mark the fifth consecutive year that ATU has participated in a community service project as part of its Martin Luther King Jr. Day commemoration.

In addition to the above events, Arkansas Tech University will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of the 2020 Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday.
