Students at Arkansas Tech University will re-tell one of Western civilization’s most well-known stories when they stage a theatrical production of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” March 8-11.
Performances will be offered in ATU’s Techionery Theatre, 1502 N. El Paso Ave. in Russellville, nightly at 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, Friday, March 9, and Saturday, March 10. A 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, March 11, will close the production.
Admission will be $8 for general admission and $5 for those with a valid ATU identification card. Tickets will not be sold in advance.
Jacob Smith of Little Rock and Diana Morris of London will play the title roles.
Dr. Ardith Morris, professor of communication and theatre at Arkansas Tech, is directing the play. Students Robert Warner of Little Rock (assistant director) and Holly Willmon of Bauxite (stage manager) are also serving in leadership positions.
Dr. David Eshelman, associate professor of communication, directs the ATU theatre program.
