The Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees approved tuition and fee changes as part of a $170 million balanced operating budget at ATU for the 2023-24 fiscal year during a meeting at Chambers Cafeteria West Dining Room on Thursday, June 15.

“Arkansas Tech University is committed to delivering high-quality programs and services in support of its mission of student access and success,” said Dr. Robin E. Bowen, ATU president. “I am grateful to leaders at all levels of the university — including members of our faculty, our staff and our student body — for their contributions and perspectives as we worked together through a collaborative process to develop our 2023-24 budget and continue our practice of delivering the greatest value possible for our students.”

Included in the budget is a 3 percent tuition and mandatory fees increase for students on the Arkansas Tech campus in Russellville. In-state undergraduate tuition will increase from $242.50 per student semester credit hour (SSCH) in 2022-23 to $249.78 per SSCH in 2023-24. In-state graduate and doctoral tuition will increase from $304.50 per SSCH in 2022-23 to $314.50 per SSCH in 2023-24.

Undergraduate and graduate mandatory fees at ATU in Russellville will increase from $80.23 per SSCH in 2022-23 to $82.63 per SSCH in 2023-24.

ATU students who take their courses in-person at Russellville will continue to be assessed non-mandatory fees for student activities ($2.68 per SSCH, an increase of 8 cents per SSCH as compared to 2022-23), public safety ($2.45 per SSCH, an increase of 7 cents per SSCH as compared to 2022-23) and student union/recreation center ($16.95 per SSCH, an increase of $8.35 per SSCH as compared to 2022-23).

In-state tuition on the Ozark campus of ATU will increase 1.5 percent from $134 per SSCH in 2022-23 to $136.01 per SSCH in 2023-24. Mandatory fees at ATU-Ozark Campus will remain unchanged as compared to 2022-23 at $56 per SSCH.

ATU undergraduate students on the Russellville and Ozark campuses who are not residents of Arkansas and do not qualify for an out-of-state tuition waiver will continue to be charged a tuition rate that is two times the rate for in-state students. ATU graduate and doctoral students will pay the same tuition rate ($314.50 per SSCH) regardless of residency in 2023-24.
