ATU, RHS Jazz Ensembles to Perform Together Monday

ATU Jazz Ensemble Fall 2019

Arkansas Tech University’s Jazz Ensemble will perform its St. Paddy’s Day Swing concert on Monday, March 9, with an assist from the Russellville High School Jazz Band.

The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Witherspoon Auditorium, 407 West Q Street Russellville. Admission will be free and open to the public.

The ATU Jazz Ensemble program for Monday includes “Six of One” by Paul Baker, “Träumerei” by Robert Schumann (arranged by Paul White), “Arnge Drank” by Paul Baker and “Time for a Change” by Hank Levy.

The jazz ensembles from ATU and RHS will perform together on “Cissy Strut” by Arthur Neville, Leo Nocentelli, George Porter and Joseph Modeliste Jr. (arranged by Roger Holmes).

The ATU Jazz Ensemble is directed by Dr. Sean Reed, associate professor of music. Paxton Taylor leads the RHS Jazz Ensemble.
