ATU Representatives Speak at National Event

Arkansas Tech University’s Dr. Christine Austin, Dr. Mary B. Gunter and Dr. Jason Warnick offered a presentation entitled “Roadmap from Strategic Planning to HLC Reaffirmation: One University’s Journey” during a national conference hosted by The Higher Learning Commission in Chicago, Ill., during the first weekend of April.

The presentation focused on how distributed leadership has allowed ATU to pivot from its strategic planning process of 2015-16 into its forthcoming HLC visit in fall 2020.

Tools utilized in the organization and dissemination of strategic planning success were also shared with the conference attendees.

Austin (photographed, center) is director of assessment and institutional effectiveness and associate professor of college student personnel at ATU.

Gunter (photographed, left) is chief of staff in the ATU Office of the President. She holds the faculty rank distinguished professor of educational leadership.

Warnick (photographed, right) is assistant vice president for student success and professor of psychology at Arkansas Tech.
