ATU – Ozark Pinning Ceremony Friday

The Practical Nursing Program at Arkansas Tech – Ozark will recognize 15 graduating nursing students during a pinning ceremony Friday, August 13.

The ceremony is scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. in the Student Services’ Conference Center on the Ozark campus.

As part of the ceremony, each graduating nursing student will be presented a nursing pin and followed by the lighting of the lamps.

Additionally, several awards will be presented to the senior nursing students.  The following award winners will be recognized: Register Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and the Certified Nurse Assistant of the Year Awards which are selected by the graduating class and awarded to a nurse who exemplifies the nursing role model.

Pinning ceremonies date back to the Nightingale School of Nursing in London where Florence Nightingale awarded pins to outstanding nurses.  The tradition will continue with this year’s graduating class.
