Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus has earned re-accreditation from HVAC Excellence, an industry organization that establishes national standards for institutions that offer education in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC).

“On behalf of the leadership, faculty and support staff of ATU-Ozark Campus, I am immensely proud of the successful re-accreditation of our HVAC program,” said Dr. Sheila Jacobs, ATU-Ozark interim chancellor. “The leadership Mr. Kenny Beeler provides in this program is second to none, as evidenced by his years of successful student outcomes and esteemed reputation in the industry. The re-accreditation process requires a lot of work and collaboration of many stakeholders, and we are grateful to HVAC Excellence and their dedicated reviewers.”

To pursue the re-accreditation, ATU-Ozark Campus leadership completed a self-study that demonstrated compliance with each of the required standards. The self-study was submitted to HVAC Excellence, which provided a review board that assessed the submission.

The review board, having approved the self-study, sent a team to conduct an on-site review of the program. Upon its review of documentation presented by the administration, faculty and on-site accreditation team, the HVAC Excellence board granted re-accreditation of the program.

The ATU-Ozark HVAC program has been a fully accredited program since May 2012.

“As a nationally accredited institution, ATU-Ozark can assure prospective students and industry partners that the institution’s HVAC program has met or exceeded national standards and has the resources and administrative support to professionally train individuals for our local, regional and state workforce,” said Jacobs. “Additionally, the accreditation helps enhance student placement and employer satisfaction and may lead to advanced placement opportunities with our industry partners in the HVAC industry.”
