Arkansas Tech University is encouraging all students, faculty and staff to review the ATU inclement weather policy in preparation for the winter months.
The inclement weather policy details procedures that will be used to notify university personnel and students should the campus be unable to operate due to current weather conditions.
In the event of inclement weather, the ATU Office of the President will determine whether to close campus or enact the inclement weather policy. A decision regarding inclement weather will be announced before 6:30 a.m. if at all possible.
On days where the inclement weather policy is placed into effect, all classes are canceled, and employees should arrive at work by 10 a.m. to receive credit for a full day’s work. Employees arriving after 10 a.m. must use annual leave for the amount of time involved in the tardiness, and employees not coming to work at all must use a full day’s annual leave.
Additionally, in the event the university chooses to close, all university offices will be closed, and classes will be canceled.
ATU will notify students and university personnel of inclement weather operations through several local media outlets. Additionally, all inclement weather closings or delays will be posted on www.atu.edu, www.arkansastechnews.com, the ATU Facebook page and the ATU Twitter account.
Information about closings and delays will also be disseminated through the ATU Alert communication system.
