ATU Gives Support for Child Advocacy Center

Arkansas Tech University and River Valley Child Advocacy Center, Inc., have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that will provide a safe space for children who are possible victims of abuse or neglect to be interviewed by the proper authorities.

As a result of the MOU, the River Valley Child Advocacy Center (RVCAC) will have access to the Crabaugh House on the ATU campus in Russellville and be able to coordinate interviews there on an as-needed basis.

The MOU was signed by ATU President Dr. Robin E. Bowen (front row, middle) and Marti Wilkerson (front row, left), president of the RVCAC. They were joined at the table by Clay McCall, treasurer for the Pope County Bar Association and deputy prosecuting attorney for the Fifth Judicial District.

Also attending the signing were (standing, from left): John Burke, RVCAC board member; Kellie Hindsman, RVCAC secretary; Detective Stephen Barker of the Russellville Police Department and RVCAC advisory committee member; Johnette Moody, RVCAC vice president; and Jennifer Coleman, RVCAC board member.
