ATU Choirs to Honor Gale During April 16 Events

Arkansas Tech University’s choral music program will celebrate the career of one of its most influential faculty members with a reunion and concert on Sunday, April 16.

Holly Ruth Gale will be the guest of honor at a 1 p.m. luncheon at Chambers Cafeteria West Dining Room, a 2:30 p.m. choir concert at Witherspoon Auditorium and a post-concert reception at Courtyard by Marriott in Russellville.

Tickets for the luncheon and reception are $20 and are available at www.atualumni.com/choirreunion23. Registration for the luncheon and reception is requested by Monday, April 10.

Admission to the concert will be free and open to the public.

Gale began teaching music at Arkansas Tech in 1994 and became a full-time faculty member in 1997. She retired at the rank of associate professor of music on Jan. 6, 2023.

The 2020 Arkansas Tech Faculty Award of Excellence winner in the scholarship and creative activity category, Gale was a regular performer of the national anthem at ATU commencement ceremonies and was a long-time co-director for the ATU Music Theatre Workshop alongside faculty colleague Ken Futterer.

The ATU choir reunion and concert on April 16 is co-sponsored by the ATU Department of Music and the ATU Office of Alumni Relations.
