ATU Behavioral Sciences Plans Internship Program

Arkansas Tech University Campus Entrance Russellville

Arkansas Tech University faculty members Dr. Julie Mikles-Schluterman and Dr. Jason Warnick are launching a new internship program for students in the ATU Department of Behavioral Sciences.

Designed to provide students with hands-on experience in their field, the program will begin in fall 2025. It will connect participants with industry professionals as a means of fostering career development and real-world skills.

“We’re thrilled to offer students an opportunity to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom to real-world settings,” said Mikles-Schluterman.

Interns must be sociology or psychology majors, maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and secure a recommendation from an ATU Department of Behavioral Science faculty member.

Mikles-Schluterman will oversee the program during the spring semesters, while Warnick will take the lead in the fall semesters.

“We believe this program will help students build confidence, skills and connections that will set them apart in today’s competitive job market,” said Warnick.

Eligible ATU students are advised to talk to their advisors for more details about the application process.
