Arkansas Tech University alumna Andrea Lea was elected to a second consecutive four-year term as Arkansas state auditor during elections on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
Lea graduated from ATU in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in emergency administration and management. She began her career in public service on the Pope County Quorum Court and the Russellville City Council before earning three terms in the Arkansas General Assembly.
She was elected to her first term as state auditor in 2014 and became the 40th individual to hold the office.
Since taking office, Lea has partnered with businesses and utilized technology to gain greater efficiency in returning unclaimed property to owners through the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt. Reduced operating expenses and enhanced transparency are among her other priorities as state auditor.
