Attorney General Visits Ozark

Attorney General Dustin McDaniel hosted a meet-and-greet with area residents today at Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus.

The event took place at 10 a.m. in the Student Services and Conference Center. The public was invited to attend along with University officials and community leaders.

McDaniel is the state’s top consumer advocate and its chief legal officer.  His office recovered more than $2.15 million in 2010 for Arkansans involved in disputes with businesses and who had sought the Attorney General’s intervention. Through the Crime Victim Reparations Program administered by McDaniel’s office, victims of crime were awarded more than $3.3 million last year.

During the recent legislative session, McDaniel spearheaded a number of bills that help protect the state’s children and families, including legislation that would enable the start-up of the Attorney General’s Cyber Crimes Division and another bill to prevent sex offenders from working as contractors in daycare centers.
