Eshnaur, Acker Honored by GAC

Two Arkansas Tech University student-athletes have earned Great American Conference volleyball player of the week accolades in recognition of their performance over the past seven days.

Senior Hunter Eshnaur of Russellville is the GAC offensive player of the week, while sophomore Emily Acker of Denton, Texas, is the GAC setter of the week.

Their awards were announced by the league office on Monday, Oct. 15.

Eshnaur made 32 kills against six attack errors in 84 total attempts last week during straight sets wins over Oklahoma Baptist University and Southern Nazarene University. She also contributed 28 digs in those two matches while posting her seventh and eighth double-doubles of the season.

Acker made 83 assists last week while directing an ATU offense that had a team hitting percentage of .316 against Oklahoma Baptist and .303 against Southern Nazarene.

The Golden Suns (15-8 overall, 8-3 GAC) will visit Henderson State University (20-4, 9-2) for a 6:30 p.m. GAC match in Arkadelphia on Thursday, Oct. 18.
