ASBTDC Offers Ten Seminars in August

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is offering 10 seminars for small business owners looking for additional training during the month of August.

The seminars focus on a variety of topics designed to assist small business owners, and some of this month’s topics include writing a business plan and how to grow a business in a tough economy.

The ASBTDC offers numerous seminars each month and also offers online training courses to assist new, existing and expanding businesses.  The regional office of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is housed at Arkansas Tech, and it is one of seven such centers throughout the state.

The following seminars will be offered in August:

  • Money Makeover for a Small Business—Monday, August 9, 8:30-11:30 a.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30.  Instructor is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Facebook ABC’s—Tuesday, August 10, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30.  Instructor is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Intermediate QuickBooks—Thursday, August 12, 6-9 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 213; Cost is $65.  Instructor is Brandon Morris, Baron’s INC.
  • How to Write a Business Plan—Monday, August 16, 8:30-11:30 a.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30.  Instructor is Jim Reser, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Facebook ABC’s—Tuesday, August 17, 2-5 p.m., Morrilton Chamber of Commerce; Cost is $30.  Instructor is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Growing a Business in Tough Economic Times—Wednesday, August 18, 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Arkansas Tech- Ozark Campus; Cost is $30.  Instructor is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Growing a Business in Tough Economic Times—Thursday, August 19, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30. Instructor is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Low Cost Marketing Techniques—Tuesday, August 24, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30.  Instructor is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Facebook ABC’s—Thursday, August 26, 8-11 a.m., First Security Bank Community Room, Clarksville; Cost is $30.  Instructor is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Starting a Business in Arkansas—Tuesday, August 31, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30. Instructor is Jim Reser, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.

The ASBTDC is offering military veterans the opportunity to attend one of the courses free of charge.
