ASBTDC Hosts Disaster Planning Seminar

The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is hosting a seminar regarding disaster recovery and continuity of operations next week.

According to the United States SBA, an estimated 40-60 percent of businesses never reopen after a disaster of any kind. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to learn about the importance of disaster preparedness.

The seminar will be held Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at the Russellville Chamber of Commerce. Donuts and coffee will be served.

The seminar is free for Arkansas Tech employees, or $30 for citizens of the community.

The presenter is Tonya Roberts-Young, director of the Arkansas Tech Center for Preparedness and Recovery.

Those interested in attending the “Continuity of Operations: Disaster Planning for Your Business” seminar should register online.

The regional office of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is housed at Arkansas Tech, and it is designed to assist new, existing and expanding businesses by offering a variety of services including consulting, training and market research.
