Area small businesses will have the opportunity to attend several training sessions on business operations throughout the month of March.
The sessions are hosted by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center, and the seminars will cover many topics including business strategies and how to market a business in a tough economy.
The regional office of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is housed at Arkansas Tech, and it is designed to assist new, existing and expanding businesses by offering a variety of services including consulting, training and market research.
The following seminars will be offered in March:
- E-mail Marketing Techniques and Tips – Tuesday, March 1, 9 a.m.-noon, Van Buren Chamber of Commerce; Cost is $35 and includes a 30-day software trial.
- E-mail Marketing Techniques and Tips – Tuesday, March 1, 5:30-8:3- p.m., Russellville Chamber of Commerce; Cost is $35 and includes a 30-day software trial.
- Facebook ABC’s (Hands on) – Thursday, March 3, 6-9 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30.
- Preparing for a Tradeshow – Tuesday, March 8, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $35. Presenter is George Mueller, Synergyworks.
- Facebook Profiles, Privacy and Pages (Hands on) – Thursday, March 10, 6-9 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30.
- Twitter for Your Business (Hands on) – Friday, March 11, 1-4 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30.
- Introduction to QuickBooks (Hands on) – Tuesday, March 15, 3-6 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 213, Cost is $65. Presenter is Brandon Morris of Barons’ Inc.
- Wow Your Customer: Best Customer Techniques and Tips – Wednesday, March 15, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Lake Point Event Center; Cost is $40 and lunch will be provided. Presenter is Bonnie Wallace of Integrity Training Services.
- Starting a Business – Thursday, March 17, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30 or free for veterans.
- Merging Your Website with Social Media – Tuesday, March 29, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30. Presenter is Jeff Turnbow of Click Media of Arkansas.
- Starting a Business – Thursday, March 31, 1-4 p.m., Van Buren Chamber of Commerce; Cost is $30 or free for veterans. Presenter is Jim Reser of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
- Low-Cost Marketing Techniques and Tips – Thursday, March 31, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Russellville Chamber of Commerce; Cost is $30 (Chamber members to receive $10 discount).
