ASBTDC Announces September Seminars

Small business owners desiring additional training on business operations will have the opportunity to attend several seminars hosted by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center this fall.

The seminars will cover many topics including business strategies and how to market a business in a tough economy.

The regional office of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is housed at Arkansas Tech, and it is designed to assist new, existing and expanding businesses by offering a variety of services including consulting, training and market research.

The following seminars will be offered this fall.

September

  • Starting a Business in Arkansas – Tuesday, Sept. 7, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Arkansas Tech University – Ozark Campus; Cost is $30, free for veterans. Presenter is Jim Reser, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Marketing on a Shoestring Budget – Thursday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m.-Noon, Morrilton Chamber of Commerce; Cost is $30. Presenter is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Expert eBay Selling Techniques – Saturday, Sept. 11, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 138; Cost is $90. Presenter is Dr. Jim Walton.
  • Customer Service Tips for Small Businesses – Monday, Sept. 13, 9 a.m.-Noon, Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30. Presenter is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Introduction to QuickBooks – Tuesday, Sept. 14, 6-9 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 213; Cost is $65. Presenter is Brandon Morris, Barons’ Inc.
  • Business Etiquette – Thursday, Sept. 16, 5:30-8:30 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30, free for veterans. Presenter is Jim Reser, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center
  • How to Write a Business Plan – Monday, Sept. 27, 9 a.m.-Noon, Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 133; Cost is $30. Presenter is Jim Reser, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Low Cost Marketing Techniques – Tuesday, Sept. 28, 9 a.m.-Noon, First Security Bank Community Room, Clarksville; Cost is $30. Presenter is Cass Capen-Housley, Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center.
  • Intermediate QuickBooks – Thursday, Sept. 30, 6-9 p.m., Arkansas Tech University Rothwell Hall Room 213; Cost is $65. Presenter is Brandon Morris, Barons’ Inc.
