Edward R. Armstrong, legal counsel at Arkansas Tech University, is leaving the institution to assume a role at the state level.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity I have had to work with such wonderful people at such a wonderful university,” said Armstrong. “It has truly been a blessing to be part of ATU as it works to carry out its commitment to seeing student success, access and excellence. I am leaving with many fond memories and warm feelings in my heart for the Tech community.”
Armstrong was previously procurement director for the State of Arkansas from February 2016-December 2021. He also represented the State of Arkansas under Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge and Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel. Armstrong took office as legal counsel at ATU on Jan. 3, 2022. His final day at ATU will be Feb. 28, 2023.
“We are appreciative to Mr. Armstrong for his work at ATU,” said Dr. Robin E. Bowen, ATU president. “He helped us update and implement several policies and procedures that have enhanced and will continue to enhance our operations. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
ATU will initiate a search for Armstrong’s successor in the days to come.
