Arkansas Tech Redesigns Website

After months of research and work, the Arkansas Tech Office of University Relations has launched a redesigned version of its website www.atu.edu.

The redesigned site includes several new features including larger photos, standardized menus, student learning information and better navigation.

The Office of University Relations began working on the new site over a year ago, and organizers say it’s a collaborative effort from multiple departments on the Arkansas Tech campus.

Michael Stoker, director of web strategies and operations, designed the site and Bryan Bramlett assisted with the coding.

The new site features a standardized look and brand, which is used on all department pages.  Stoker says these types of improvements, along with the reorganization of content, will help the university better communicate its message.

He adds, “Our research has shown there were several areas we needed to improve to make our website more effective.  This redesign will allow us to better serve those who access our website.”

Stoker says the redesign is the first step in several web changes.  Additional changes and upgrades include improved search capabilities, a virtual tour and a new content management system.

The Arkansas Tech University website currently consists of 128 department websites and 164 websites for faculty and student organizations.
