Arkansas Tech Creates an Office of Events

Arkansas Tech University has established an Office of Events to improve communication and coordination as it relates to activities on its Russellville campus.

Departments and offices planning any event on any Arkansas Tech property that is not an academic class or an intercollegiate athletics competition should begin their process by reserving space through the form located at www.atu.edu/events.

The Arkansas Tech Office of Events is operated by Alison Ahlert, who has more than eight years of related experience through her role as event coordinator at Lake Point Conference Center.

“By creating a centralized office that serves as the primary contact for offices and departments, it is our goal to create a more systematic and global approach to how space is reserved,” said Arkansas Tech President Dr. Robin E. Bowen. “I believe that as the online reservation system available at www.atu.edu/events becomes the new routine on campus, it will contribute to our culture of service excellence and yield enhanced experiences for our internal and external constituencies.”

Registered student organizations at Arkansas Tech should continue to utilize theLINK (thelink.atu.edu) to reserve space for their meetings and activities.

Those planning a conference or camp may continue to utilize the services offered by ATU Camps and Conferences by calling (479) 968-0697.

Ahlert said that over the next 6-to-9 months the Office of Events will be involved in implementing new software that will allow for an improved online campus calendar, event management and academic scheduling system. More information concerning the new tool will be communicated as it becomes available.
