Numerous athletic camps are taking place this week for River Valley youngsters.
Today begins the Elite Pitching and Catching Baseball Camp. The camp takes place today and tomorrow from 9-11 a.m. The camp cost is $50.
Wednesday marks the start of a two-day hitting baseball camp. The camp is from 9-11 a.m. each day and is designed to help participants “improve their plate discipline and become a more well-rounded hitter.”
The camp costs $50 and is open to students of all ages.
Also taking place Wednesday is first team basketball camp for junior high and high school girls’ basketball teams. The camp runs through Friday and will allow participants to take part in a practice and a game situation.
The first football team camp is scheduled for Thursday. The camp will run from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. and costs $250 per team. Throughout the camp, students will focus on several phases of practice, including inside drills, 1-on-1’s, skeleton drills and scrimmages.
Friday marks the start of a two-day team basketball camp for junior high and high school boys’ basketball teams. The camp features skills sessions each morning and pool play in the afternoon. Prior to the conclusion of the camp, the team attending will be able to take part in a tournament.
