The Arkansas Tech University Department of Agriculture will host its annual poinsettia sale on Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the Tech Greenhouses. The greenhouses are located on the north end of Tech’s campus, and signs will be posted to assist shoppers. “This is my 32nd year of overseeing the poinsettia sale,” said Dr. Jim Collins, professor of agriculture at Arkansas Tech. “In addition to traditional red and pink plants, we will offer several newer cultivars including the speckled jingle bells and the winter rose. We will also have painted and glittered plants available.” Students enrolled in a plant propagation course at Arkansas Tech have worked throughout the semester to grow the poinsettias. Sale proceeds will be re-invested in greenhouse plants and supplies for students in the Arkansas Tech Department of Agriculture. For more information about the sale, call (479) 968-0251.
