Arkansas Tech University is accepting nominations for the Alumni Board. The deadline for nominations is Friday, Oct. 1.
The Alumni Board is composed of 24 members, and they meet three to four times a year. If you or someone you know is interested in serving on the Alumni Board, submit your nomination to the Alumni Office.
All submitted names will be forwarded to a nominating committee that will select a slate of candidates, to be approved by the Alumni Board, to appear on the ballot. Voting will take place in the fall issue of the Tech Action.
Alumni support is critical to the future of Arkansas Tech and as an advisory board, the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Tech Alumni Association (the Alumni Board) has the opportunity and responsibility to lead the effort of greater alumni involvement and increased support for the university.
The Alumni Board is charged with leading to carry out the roles of the Alumni Association and keeping graduates abreast of current of the current state of Arkansas Tech.
The roles of the Alumni Association are to provide a means of fellowship and renewing and continuing associations among alumni, faculty and staff; to help make sure the public-at-large understands what the institution is about; to take an active role in helping the institution raise funds from alumni, foundations and other sources of private dollars; to use political influence where possible and appropriate to the benefit of the institution; and to assist with student recruitment, by institution; and to assist with student recruitment by recognizing promising young students in their communities and encouraging them to consider Tech.
