Given the unforeseen circumstances created by the COVID-19 health emergency, Arkansas Tech University is exploring ways to decrease student stressors while simultaneously working to assure students’ master course learning outcomes. As such, please know discussions are occurring with regard to pass/fail grades for the spring 2020 semester.
We are exploring several options to ensure a breadth of circumstances are considered. Preliminary conversations are not leaning toward a universal pass/fail as that may unfairly penalize students who are applying to graduate/professional school, those who prefer to be awarded a regular letter grade, veterans or professions in which a letter grade is required for entry.
We ask for your patience as we work to create a solution and have all of the logistics in place. We anticipate that an announcement will be made in mid-April.
