Arkansas Tech University students Jaycie Massengale of Lamar and Triston Smith of Dardanelle made poster presentations at the American Chemical Society spring 2026 national meeting, which took place March 22-26 in Atlanta, Ga.
“Throughout the meeting, the students immersed themselves in the excitement of discovery,” said Dr. Subha Pratihar, ATU assistant professor of chemistry. “They attended exciting talks in physical chemistry and metal-organic framework research, gaining valuable insights into emerging scientific trends. They also took full advantage of the ACS career fair and expo, where they connected with graduate schools, employers and industries in the chemical sciences. Their participation showcases not only their dedication, but also the growing impact of undergraduate research within the chemistry program at ATU.”
Pratihar noted that one of the talks the ATU students attended at the meeting was delivered by Dr. Omar Yaghi, 2025 winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
