Alumni from Atkins High School have made a donation to the Arkansas Tech University Fishing Club in memory of one of their own.
Bobby Haynes, Atkins High School Class of 1960, died on June 4, 2025. An avid fisherman, he was 82.
Truman Pew, a 1961 Atkins High School graduate and resident of Russellville, helps coordinate a group of Atkins High School alumni from that era. They make a memorial gift when one of their classmates passes away. Due to Haynes’ love of fishing, the group selected the ATU Fishing Club as the recipient of his memorial gift.
Pew met with Kade Ratcliff of Springdale, president of the ATU Fishing Club, at Tucker Coliseum on Monday, Aug. 11, to commemorate the donation with a photograph.
