


Four Arkansas Tech University students made poster presentations at the 2025 University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Summer Research Symposium.
Bailee Brinkley of Fort Smith, Moses Chen of Little Rock, Kaitlin Edwards of Hartman and Nathan Surles of Heber Springs represented Arkansas Tech at the event, which took place on Wednesday, July 23, at the I. Dodd Wilson Education Building on the UAMS campus in Little Rock.
Chen, Edwards and Surles completed their research under the mentorship of Dr. Newton Hilliard, ATU professor of chemistry.
Brinkley completed her research through the Arkansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence in Dr. J. Craig Forrest’s laboratory at UAMS.
This was the 12th annual UAMS Summer Research Symposium. According to information provided by UAMS, the event seeks to “provide a spark for undergraduate research that advances scientific knowledge and trains inquisitive minds to solve the challenges of tomorrow.”
