Inaugural Diversity and Inclusion Week Planned

The Arkansas Tech University Office of Diversity and Inclusion has announced the schedule of events for the inaugural Diversity and Inclusion Week.

The week of activities runs Nov 2-8 and is designed to highlight diversity and opportunities that exist to welcome all Tech students.

Monday, Nov. 2:

Lunch with a Leader

  • Lunch and learning from four African American Russellville business owners
  • Noon in Room 242 of the Doc Bryan Student Services Center
  • Sponsored by Campus Life & On Track Event

Day of the Dead Event

  • Learn about Day of the Dead and create a craft
  • 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Chambers tabling area
  • Co-sponsored by the World Languages & Culture Club

Diversity Games

  • Play several games to help students navigate in a diverse world
  • 6-8 p.m. in the Young Ballroom
  • Co-sponsored by the Student Activities Board

Tuesday, Nov. 3:

Tech Human Library – Barbara Lackey

  • Hear Barbara Lackey Speak about her time at Arkansas Tech
  • 10 a.m.  in Room 326 of the Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center

I AM Tech Movement

  • Share how you identify as part of the Tech family

Open Mic Night
