SAU Eliminates Tech From GAC Tournament

Rucker hit the first pitch he saw in the last of the ninth into left field to bring Josh Rodriguez home with the winning run for SAU. The Wonder Boys tied the game 5-5 in the top of the ninth inning when Rafiel Johnson delivered an RBI single to center field that allowed James Sharp to score. Rodriguez and Tyler Cameron singled for the Muleriders in the bottom of the ninth to set the stage for Rucker’s heroics. Rucker finished the game 3-for-5 with two home runs and five RBIs. SAU relief pitcher Preston Gray (4-2) was the winner. He allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings of work. Arkansas Tech reliever Jake Bell (5-2) was saddled with the loss. Patrick Castleberry was 2-for-5 with two RBIs and Sharp was 2-for-3 with two runs scored to pace the Wonder Boys’ line-up.]]>
