Students Educate Children About Constitution

Arkansas Tech University students are spending time with children in kindergarten through fourth grade at Dwight Elementary School today to teach them the meaning of Constitution Day.

The students have prepared a PowerPoint presentation for the children that will teach them an overview of the rights granted to U. S. citizens by the constitution.

Following the presentation, the group will host games and help the students with special projects designed to educate them about the constitution.

Additionally, the same program will be presented to first graders at Pyron Elementary School in Clarksville and a more advanced program will be presented to ninth graders at Russellville Junior High School tomorrow.

According to the Constitution Center website, Constitution Day is a day to continue the legacy of the 39 brave men who changed the course of history and develop habits of citizenship in a new generation of Americans.
