Arkansas Tech University has continued its track record as an institution of choice by attracting more than 9,000 students for the spring 2011 semester.
Arkansas Tech has a preliminary enrollment of 9,037 students for spring 2011. That is a 6.5 percent increase over spring 2010, when enrollment at Arkansas Tech was 8,486.
Enrollment figures were reported as of the end of the 11th class day of the semester. The enrollment numbers will become official on Feb. 23.
Arkansas Tech has established a school record enrollment 12 consecutive years. Enrollment at Tech increased 131 percent from fall 1997-fall 2010.
A comprehensive regional university, Arkansas Tech was created in 1909 and has evolved to include two campuses (Russellville and Ozark) that offer students a broad variety of educational opportunities designed to prepare them for the jobs of the future.
