49th Arkansas JSHS This Weekend at Tech

The 2015 Arkansas Junior Science and Humanities Symposium at Arkansas Tech University will feature a keynote address by Dr. Benjamin Newton, research electronics engineer in the U.S. Air Force Research Lab at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. Newton will speak at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13, in the Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall. The symposium will continue through Saturday, March 14. A 2009 graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, Newton was an electronics technician in the U.S. Navy for six years. He went on to earn master and doctoral degrees from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in microelectronics and photonics. During his keynote lecture, Newton will highlight career opportunities that exist in the armed forces for individuals with a background in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The annual Arkansas Junior Science and Humanities Symposium highlights original research and experimentation by high school students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The Arkansas Junior Science and Humanities Symposium has been held on the Arkansas Tech campus since 1967. Dr. Jessica P.
