Faculty, staff and students on the Arkansas Tech University campus in Russellville are invited to participate in the sixth annual campus safety walk co-hosted by the ATU Department of Public Safety and the ATU Office of Facilities Management on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

The walk will begin on the north side of Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center at 8 p.m.

“We encourage all students, faculty, and staff to be a part of this event,” said Joshua McMillian, chief of the ATU Department of Public Safety. “The purpose of this event is to identify any problem areas on campus where people don’t feel safe. This can be due to insufficient lighting, landscaping and many other factors. The group will identify safety concerns on campus and a detailed list will be compiled based on the group’s evaluation. This information will be presented to university officials as a document to guide future improvements on our beautiful campus.”
