Wonder Boys Victorious in Golf Season Debut

Arkansas Tech University led wire-to-wire on its way to a season-opening 14-stroke victory among a field of 20 teams at The Mule, a men’s golf tournament hosted by the University of Central Missouri at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg, Mo., on Monday and Tuesday.

The Wonder Boys recorded team scores of 285-291-281 for a 54-hole total of 857. The University of Central Oklahoma was runner-up at 871.

Putter Srinoon made it a clean sweep for ATU by winning the individual title. He shot 72-71-68 for a 1-over par total of 211 and then won a sudden death playoff against Harding University’s Mason Banger and Henderson State University’s Nick Shapiro.

Luke Cornett (T-6th, 71-71-72-214), Jackson Marseilles (T-20th, 77-71-72-220), Ryan Spurlock (T-29th, 74-79-69-222) and Shawn Tsai (T-36th, 68-78-77-223) also contributed to the Wonder Boys’ team championship in Warrensburg.

Arkansas Tech will compete in the Northeastern State University Classic in Muskogee, Okla., on Monday, Sept. 18, and Tuesday, Sept. 19.
