Wonder Boys Sweep Titles at NSU Classic

Arkansas Tech University captured first place in the men’s team and individual standings at the 2016 Northeastern State University Golf Classic, which concluded on Tuesday at Muskogee Country Club in Muskogee, Okla.

The Wonder Boys finished with a 54-hole team total of 14-under par 838 to edge fellow Great American Conference member Southwestern Oklahoma State University for the team title. SWOSU had a three-round team score of 840. In all, 18 teams competed in Muskogee.

Arkansas Tech’s Austin Smith returned scores of 67-66-70 for a 10-under par total of 203 and a two-stroke individual victory.

Luke Cornett (T-6th, 70-68-71-209), Putter Srinoon (T-18th, 70-72-73-215), Ryan Spurlock (T-22nd, 71-75-70-216) and Shawn Tsai (T-27th, 70-71-76-217) also contributed to the Wonder Boys’ team title. Tech’s Bryce Burke (T-86th, 75-78-79-232) competed as an individual.

The Wonder Boys will return to action on Oct. 3-4 at the Henderson State University Fall Classic in Hot Springs.
