Golden Suns Return Home Tuesday Night

Arkansas Tech University will renew acquaintances with a pair of former women’s basketball conference foes this week, beginning with a home date against the University of North Alabama on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

The Golden Suns will conclude their “reunion week” with a Sunday, Nov. 29, 2 p.m. contest against Delta State University in Cleveland, Miss.

Arkansas Tech, UNA and DSU were fellow members of the Gulf South Conference from 1995-2011, at which point Tech moved forward to become one of nine founding members of the Great American Conference.

Tickets for Tuesday night’s game ($5 adults / $3 students and senior citizens) will be available at the Tucker Coliseum door. Those with a valid Arkansas Tech identification card will be admitted free of charge.

Adams scored 30 points and Pounds added 18 points to lead the Golden Suns to a 79-69 win at North Alabama last season.

About the Lions: North Alabama is led by sophomore guard KeKe Gunter. She is averaging 13.3 points per game and shooting 50 percent (8-of-16) from 3-point range. The Lions have been out-rebounded by an average margin of 11.3 rebounds per game over their first four contests. UNA ranks last in the GSC in field goal percentage defense (.486).
