Winter Weather Alert: February 18-20, 2025

The National Weather Service office in Little Rock is predicting that frozen precipitation will fall on the region that includes Arkansas Tech University campuses in Russellville and Ozark this week, possibly beginning during the daylight hours on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

The frozen precipitation will be followed by potentially record-breaking cold temperatures. Forecast wind chills for the mornings of Wednesday, Feb. 19, and Thursday, Feb. 20, are in the single digits to possibly zero degrees.

Members of the ATU community are encouraged to follow local media outlets and @NWSLittleRock on Twitter/X for more information as it becomes available.

ATU senior administrators will be closely monitoring the weather situation. If any adjustments to operations become necessary, they will be communicated on www.arkansastechnews.com, ATU e-mail, OneTech campus announcements, ATU social media accounts, local media outlets and through the ATU Alert text messaging system.

Should inclement weather affect the ATU campus in Russellville, Chambers Cafeteria will remain open to provide meals for residential students. Chambers Cafeteria is equipped with backup power in the event of a power outage. The Instagram account for ATU’s food service provider, Chartwells, is @ATUeats.
