Dr. Robert Charles Brown and Jill Lestage Brown Hall and the W.O. Young Building at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville will be open for normal hours on Monday, Oct. 21.
Classes, events and administrative offices in the two buildings will return to their regular schedule as of 8 a.m. Monday.
Both facilities were closed for a period of time on Friday, Oct. 18, due to reports of smoke. Personnel from Russellville Fire Department responded to the scene, investigated and reported to the ATU Department of Public Safety there was no active fire in either building.
Members of the ATU Executive Council and the ATU Office of Facilities Management staff toured both buildings on Sunday, Oct. 20, and determined that both are safe for occupancy.
