Arkansas Tech University President Dr. Robin E. Bowen has announced the timeline the institution will pursue in filling its director of athletics position on a permanent basis.
Abby Davis, interim director of athletics, has agreed to continue in her interim leadership role through spring 2022. ATU will initiate its search process during the 2021-22 academic year. It is anticipated that finalists for the director of athletics position will visit Arkansas Tech in spring 2022.
“Identifying the person who can best create and implement a vision for the future of our intercollegiate athletics program that is inclusive of academic excellence, a community service mindset and competitive success is a priority for Arkansas Tech University,” said Bowen. “I am grateful that Coach Davis continues to provide a steady hand of leadership for the Arkansas Tech Department of Athletics during this interim period. I appreciate her sustained efforts in support of our student-athletes, our coaches and our athletics staff.”
An alumna of Arkansas Tech, Davis has served as head coach of the Golden Suns tennis program since 2004.
