Arkansas Tech University faculty members Dr. Dana Tribble and Krystal Shipp gave a presentation entitled “Open Educational Resources + Chat GPT = Smarter, Faster and Freer: A Practical Guide for Educators” during the 2025 Teaching Professor Online Conference.
The virtual national conference was presented by Magna Publications July 22-24.
In their presentation abstract, Tribble and Shipp explained that participants learned how combining ChatGPT and open educational resources can “streamline course design, enhance clarity and support the creation of inclusive, student-centered learning environments.” They also sought to help attendees “discover practical strategies for using ChatGPT to draft rubrics, generate consistent feedback, clarify assignment instructions and build dynamic course content” while modeling ethical artificial intelligence implementation.
Tribble is assistant professor of student affairs administration at Arkansas Tech. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree and a Master of Science degree from ATU. She obtained her Doctor of Philosophy degree at the University of Central Arkansas.
Shipp is instructor of curriculum and instruction and director of the early childhood education program at Arkansas Tech. She graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree and from Arkansas Tech with a Master of Education degree.
